From email: holidays and PDF export

-1- It is not actually possible to have a “general” running : if you declare holidays in a project, you cannot indicate a milestone during the holidays, nor effective tasks. It is important for us because we manage projects in a general manner, with no affectation to resources, and we manage holidays for a provisional purpose, so we can have effective tasks or milestones during holidays

-2- We have the need to improve the PDF export function :
Add the ability to select a specific task (with the tasks of next levels)
Add the ability to adjust the Gantt diagram in order to use all the page width (as the resource diagram)

If you just want to show weekends on the chart, but allow for scheduling tasks on weekends, choose option “all tasks run as on other days” in “On weekends” dropdown in Project > Properties > Calendar.

The same for holidays: choose “Neutral” type in the holidays calendarfor those holidays which you just want to be shown.

What’s the use case?

Due to use of GanttProject with internal and external resources, we want to have the ability to have some resources work with week ends + holidays and others without
So the ideal way will be the ability in GanttProject to manage week-ends and holidays resource by resource, with the option “all tasks run as on other days” for the week ends. The holidays will be managed also by resource

Add the ability to adjust the Gantt diagram in order to use all the page width (as the resource diagram)
What’s the use case?

The use case is the ability of the tool to export a friendly user graphic, so it’s not useful to resize it
Currently, we are forced to make screenshots to do this

Let me ask for clarification: you’re not happy with 1-2 centimeters margins around chart in PDF export and want to remove them? Will it really make any difference given the same page size?

You may want to try exporting to PNG image which can be viewed and printed using image viewer tools.
