Can't amend any scheduling dates

No matter which date (or ‘super’ date) I select I can’t change any dates to make the project longer / shorter on tasks/events.

I am new to PM software, but fairly adept at using new software, but I’ve become exasperated by not being able to change the date of any task or sub-task I created, either directly or through the properties window: they are greyed out.

If dates of some task are disabled this means that manual changes will not take any effect because the dates are calculated from other information. Currently this is the case for summary tasks whose dates are defined by the dates of their child tasks.

This said, if you really want to move the whole tree of tasks, you can drag the summary task using mouse.
