Adding 2+ resources does not shorten task time

Hiya. I’m using GanttProject 2.8.5 Pilsen (build 2179)

I have a 4 day task assigned 100% to Bob. OK takes 4 days on Gantt chart. Add Sam 100% as a 2nd resource to the task. Still takes 4 days? Am I missing something?

Effort-driven scheduling is not supported, sorry.

Step 14 is what I want to do but it doesn’t work, just to be clear.

Is the workaround to create 2 tasks each assigned to a specific person and with a common milestone?

If you mean this:

Adding more than one resource to a task will shorten the duration of that task.

then it seems to be a fantasy of the guide authors. It has never worked this way. Task in GanttProject won’t change its duration because of (un)assigning any resources.
