Automatic sum in a custom column

Hi,
I’d like to add a custom column, similar to “Cost” for the cashflow, but I realised that it doens’t do the sum of the sub-item (in the default “cost” works well).

I saw here the same problem and I hope with the new release something has changed:

Calculate values in custom columns?

I would like to add columns for “budget” and “delta” and then be able to subtract each task’s cost from its budget and display in the “delta” column. Is there any way to make any calculations in the custom columns?

Any help?

Such features are not yet supported, sorry. You can try exporting to Excel and using Excel for such calculations.

The most recent version (3.3) has a new Custom Colum Option: “Value is Calculated”.
How does it work?
Can it solve the problem presented three years ago?
