Can't launch GanttProject

I would like to evaluate GanttProject for use in program management for Mac users. I downloaded the product, but I can’t launch it. When I try to launch, the icon bounces on the toolbar and then disappears. I already downloaded Java Runtime Environment as required.

Any ideas why this is happening?

It doesn’t say anything. It just looks like it tries to launch but then it gives up.

I downloaded Java Runtime Environment previously. I have to admit I don’t know what running it in “Terminal” means so not sure how to check that it’s really there.

Trying the fallback distro for Mojave got me to a point where it said the app was downloaded from the Internet and asked if I wanted to open. When I said yes, it again did not launch (no other messages).

OK, I got the terminal going.
java version “1.6.0_65”

Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-468)

Java HotSpot™ 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.65-b04-468, mixed mode)

Java 6 is very outdated and GanttProject won’t run on it. I really recommend you to try using a distro with bundled Java Runtime

I see you have a beat version in your Dropbox. I can try that.

I managed to download the distro with bundled Java Runtime, and it nows launches. I’ll give it a try.
