Days off in Resouce

Hello,

i have entered days off in resources. If i now assign this resource to a task, the task just ignores the days off. It seems the only effect of the days off is to add a Light red bar in the Resource view to that resource.

Is there a ways to take days off into the automatic task duration calculation?

Or di i use the “days off” feature wrong?

best regards
markus

Days off at the moment are just painted columns on the chart. They do no carry any meaning to the GanttProject scheduler, sorry.

Light yellow. Light red bars are holidays.

Too bad, Thanks for the fast answer.
In my GantProject Installation “Days Off” Color defaults to a light red. Should it default to Yellow?

Hi there

Great tool for my purposes.
However, this one also comes in inconvenient for me.
Are there any plans to take days off into account for the charts, similar as is done with holidays, kind of holidays && resource has days off?
At a first try it would help if this works for only one resource, which is, I guess, the most common use case. I understand, that this might be more difficult if more than one resource is allocated to a task.

Whith the aim to contribute and help, I would like to share my workaround in GanttProject.
What I do is a generalization… taking “a guesstimate average”

For example, a task that takes 11 working days, for a team, if the duration enters in Christmas time, I just “extend” the period of duration, adding non-cost tasks as “average days off for the team”.
So, I do not record “Christmas days off”, but I do have that situation in the schedule to know that it will surely not take that 11 days duration of cost.
