Is it possible to show a custom column for some tasks only, but not for others (see bold text in table)?

The dialog window does suggest this, but it works all or none. The buttons Hide/Show have the same effect as Default Enabled/Disabled. Would be great if they could be independent.

Default value enabled Default value disabled
Hide Selected Enabled by default, but can be hidden for individual tasks? Disabled by default, so you don’t have to click Hide selected?
Show selected Enabled by default, so you don’t have to click Show selected? Disabled by default, but can be shown for individual tasks?

I am not sure that I completely understand the question. In the task table tasks are rows and custom columns are, well, columns. You can’t show the column for some rows and hide it for other rows.
