Gantt chart export

Hallo,

Danke.

Hello,
is it possible to export the Gantt chart to HTML with a “static” area on the left in which the columns are shown? This would be clear when scrolling sideways in the HTML file.
Another possibility or option would be to export the Gantt chart as an image (with readable resolution) to an Excel file?

You can export the chart to PNG image and insert it into any Excel document.

There are no better HTML export options, sorry.

Thank you for this very fast feedback, but the resolution of the jpeg or png-file is low. When I insert the image in Excel, it is not readable. Can I change or how can I change the resolution of the exported image?

It must be the same as on screen. Can you show an example?

Here is an example, to see the issue.

  • exported from ganttproject: HouseBuildingSample.png
  • inserted in Excel: ganttproject_test-1.xlsx

GanttProject_test-1.zip (162,1 KB)

There is just a very wide dark rectangle instead of the image in the ZIP archive. How did you produce it?

The zip was created with 7-zip. I can uplpad the image again tomorrow, when I am back in the office.

Everything is fine with ZIP file. The question was about the image. It is a dark rectangle with the dimensions 37516x951 pixels

I have the image uploaded again, it’s exported from GanttProject.

Is it literally the file that was produced by the export, with Project > Export > PNG? I really doubt because the result of exporting the sample project with that long time period on my computer is attached. Maybe you did not take the exported file, and copied its scaled-down image from somewhere?

Anyway, why do you need such a long chart? It is empty in 80% of its width. You can choose the chart export range on the second page of the export wizard.

Yes, this is literally the file that was produced by the export woth Ganttproject. I increase the period of the example project consciously, because our projects goes over such long periods. When I import your picture into Exel the resulotion is less / poor, also (this is the main issue). So is it possible to export an image from Ganttproject for a “good” result after import into Excel?

If you resize an image in Excel, it naturally becomes blurry and unreadable… I guess you can resize it to the 100% size using Excel tools.

Yes, this is literally the file that was produced by the export woth Ganttproject

I really doubt that it was the case, unless you changed somehow the chart or export settings, e.g. decreased the chart font size.

Anyway, you can try exporting to PDF, which produces a scalable vector image, that can be zoomed to e.g. 400%

Hello,
I found a workaround, which is okay fro me.
When I insert the png-file in Excel over the clipboard the resulotion in Excel is okay. I used Windows image viewer to copy it in clipboard.
Thank you for your support.

can we have more explications in pdf for learning and include that in our chatt?
and i have a difficult with the password on my Gannt

I don’t understand the question, sorry.
