I used GanttProject regularly in the past and I really like it because it is fast and logical.
Now I have to plan a big project again and I downloaded the latest version, but unfortunately I experienced a very annoying error phenomenon.
After a time of about 15 minutes, the program is guaranteed to crash. Only after a restart can I resume the interrupted work.
I investigated the phenomenon a bit:
Before takeoff, the memory usage keeps increasing, even if I don’t do anything. It will be larger than 1.3GB.
The CPU usage of the core running the program will be greater than 99%, the CPU cooling will speed up and the program will exit after about a minute.
My system:
AMD Ryzen 5 4600H CPU (6*2 cores), 3GHz
16 GB of RAM
MS Windows 11
GanttProject V.3.2.3246
He tried to replace OpenJDK with newer versions, but that didn’t help either, it just crashed again.
Does anyone have an idea of what could have happened and how to fix it. I would really like to continue using this software.
