DmitryB… saying this is a duplicate that is not resolved is not helpful to either users here on on the GitHub site.

I was about to mail in my log and MPP file because the dates are changing in some cases by 6 months or more for both start and end dates.

Importing a project (or any file for that matter on any platform) should NOT result in altered data when the import is complete, that is just poor integration management, coming from a delivery manager with 20 yrs experience.

Please tell me there is a solution for importing MPP files into this tool or I will be reluctant to make sure never to use this product again. I manage $1-$10M technology projects and most of my clients use MSProject but I prefer my MAC platform. If this tool can’t do the work I’ll certainly use another.

GanttProject and Microsoft Project are different tools with no feature parity, so some changes or even data loss are inevitable during import, sorry. You can read more detailed explanation here.

We print the report to let you judge yourself if the changes are harmless or not. Normally the changes in task dates are small (if any at all, you know, people rarely write on the forum when tool works fine) and easy to explain. Six months shift is pretty big. If you care to know the reasons or fix them, please send us your source file.

PS. This topic is a duplicate of exactly the same ticket submitted by the same person into the issue tracker, that’s why it is mentioned as a duplicate. The topic started did not provide the details, so hopefully he decided that changes were reasonable.
