For the moment there are 4 types that can be used as column type when adding one. As the url type is already know , would it be posible to add this also as a type (and the functionality to select it) ?

What’s the use case by the way? You can just put URLs into text custom columns. Do you want just a convenient way to click the links from the text or anything more specific?
It’s indeed to get a more convenient way to use the URLL’s. I would be handy if they also could be used in the gantt chart (e.g. when selecting a task).
P.S. is it still a open software development ?
Yes. GanttProject source code is under GPL license.
