Windows 10, ganttproject crashes, with project loaded or not

Hello – i just started using ganttproject last night. I spent about 4 hours creating a project, no issues. Today i launch the program and it crashes within 5-60 secs of opening. I can have a blank project open or any of the ones i created last night, either way the application closes. No prompts about “program terminated unexpectedly”, event log is clean, doesn’t show the application crashing at all (application or system logs). I have reviewed the log the program creates and it doesn’t even show the application terminating.

version 2.8.4, build 2134
Windows10 x64 pro, 1511 (build 10586.839)
java 8 update 111, updated to update 121 for troubleshooting
webroot a/v (disabled for troubleshooting, no change)

I cant get any work done in the application so i’m attempting to export the project out and install an older version of MS project to continue my work. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

tried KB 1380 no change, same result, reverted changes.
tried KB 1346, removed the line from the ini.
so far able to keep application open for more than 1 min.
I changed the power plan to max performance and all settings to max performance in the plan.
I did not have the specific power setting option listed in the KB, i had one called “inter graphics power plan” which i set to max performance.
Will update in 30 mins if this resolves the issue. so far so good.

It appears KB 1346 did the trick. stable since the changes made above.
For the record i did search for windows 10 and crashes and that KB did not come up. However i was just searching the support forum so i’m not sure if KB articles get picked up in the search.
Appreciate the help.
