i had the same problem. Using oracle-jdk-8 on Ubuntu 18.04
Using ganttproject_2.8.10-r2364-1_all.deb
starting from Terminal i get fixed by setting env vars for JAVA_HOME
starting ganttproject from Gnome Desktop Environment, clicking on ganttproject brings no effect, nothing happens. no log from what happens trying to start GP found.
any ideas?
I am not sure that I clearly understand what is “the same” problem (there were many problems mentioned in the thread where this topic was moved from) but assuming that the problem was that running ganttproject from terminal produced something like “/usr/lib/jvm/java-11-oracle/bin/java does not exist”
Do you mean that you could run it with
export JAVA_HOME=/path/to/existing/jre
ganttproject
?
